ECC is the new Geo-blocking contact point

Support for consumers

Today, on December 3rd, 2018, the new Geo-blocking regulation comes into force EU-wide. Discriminations based on nationality or place of residence of a consumer when shopping online are now prohibited.

If such discriminations happen, every EU member state established a specific contact point for consumers. The European Consumer Centre Austria (ECC) is happy to take on this task today.

In Austria, the Federal Competition Authority is in charge of the effective enforcement of the Geo-blocking regulation.

We provide practical support during conflicts with a trader in the framework of the Geo-blocking regulation. Read more about what the regulation covers in our article 7 important questions about Geo-blocking.

Our contact details for the submission of complaints are available at contact.
