Lodging a rail travel complaint

Please note: Since the 28th of May 2015, a new arbitration board handles cases regarding rail, ship, cruises and air travel. The agency for passenger rights is an independent institution that aims at out-of-court solutions.

The former enforcement body for rail passenger rights, Schienen-Control GmbH, was integrated into the new agency. Please send complaints regarding rail travel directly to the apf. The apf handles cases of consumers who bought a ticket from an Austrian railway company.

The European Consumer Centre Austria (ECC) offers assistance with cross-border complaints, e.g. if you bought a ticket from a railway company situated in another EU Member State.
